For years, the SAVE OUR PLANET message I have been directing to elementary school students has contained two very simple concepts. Turn off the water, turn off the lights. If that simple sentence became a mantra to all humans on earth who presently have access to the luxuries that go by the names of running water and electricity, our planet would thank us remarkably. After listening to SAVE OUR PLANET, parents are often surprised to see their kids teaching THEM about the importance of being “conscious” of these two simple concepts. One Mom said, “My daughter has become the water and electricity police! We can’t walk from one room to another without my daughter turning off the lights.” To me, that is key. Being “conscious.” A consistent remembering that we ALL play a crucial role in stopping global warming. TODAY. Not tomorrow when I might feel like it. TODAY.
