Join the 1,467,239 supporters of the Stop Global Warming Virtual March, and become part of the movement to demand our leaders freeze and reduce carbon dioxide emissions now. We are all contributors to global warming and we all need to be part of the solution.

The Stop Global Warming Virtual March is a non-political effort to declare that global warming is here now and it’s time to act.
This is a movement about change, as individuals, as a country, and as a global community.

Matt Keener

Global warming is bad for everyone’s health.Breaking our fossil fuel addiction will not only slow long-term global warming, it will bring about immediate health benefits for all of us. The main sources of the extreme levels of carbon dioxide that cause global warming—the cars we drive, the trucks, trains and ships that transport the goods we buy, and the power plants that power our homes and workplaces—are the same fossil fuel-burning sources that spew millions of tons of particulates, ozone, sulfur dioxide and mercury into the air. These pollutants significantly increase the risk to all of us for developing, asthma, lung cancer and other fatal illnesses. We are all responsible and we all have a role to play. Every one of us can help make a real difference, right now. Don’t buy their latest ploy. Now that the oil companies realize the old saw about how “global warming is a myth” isn’t working, they’re trying to sell “it’s too late, there’s nothing that can be done.” There are a lot of things that can be done, if we’re willing to do them. Most importantly, we can all get a lot more involved in the political process. We can build an economically sustainable future where the energy we use doesn’t pollute the air and make us sick or threaten the very balance of life on the entire planet. But it’s going to take a lot more “people power” to give our leaders the courage to stand up to the short-term, profit-driven oil companies which currently dominate our political system. If you’re ready to get more involved, sign up here to be a virtual marcher (and tell all your friends to do the same). Then contact your local American Lung Association office and tell them you want to help fight for clean, healthy air and stop global warming. The American Lung Association has been a leader in the fight for clean, healthy air since 1970. They’ll help you get involved in making a real difference starting right in your own community. That’s what I did, twelve years ago.>
