The Stop Global Warming Virtual March is a non-political effort to declare that global warming is here now and it’s time to act.
This is a movement about change, as individuals, as a country, and as a global community.

1% For The Planet

One Percent For The Planet is a network of nearly 400 members that commit to giving one percent of their revenues to environmental organizations every year. Our members recognize and embrace the power these groups have to affect change, and they recognize that the need for change is urgent. So they have committed themselves to becoming part of the solution by embracing campaigns just like StopGlobalWarming.org. Many of our members would agree with the observation that no issue is more urgent to address than global warming. In fact many would express grave disappointment that more has not been done collectively to address what appears to be the single most important issue of our lifetimes. The science is clear. The effects become more and more visible every day. Yet still – on a global scale – we have done almost nothing meaningful to address the ever increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in out atmosphere. Something else you should know is that many of our members could tell you story after story about addressing their own contributions to global warming in ways that have not hurt their businesses but rather in WAYS THAT HAVE HELPED THEIR BUSINESSES TO GROW AND PROFIT! They have improved efficiency and reduced operating costs in ways they would not have identified were in not for a focus on emissions. They have switched to renewable energy resources at little to no incremental cost and have perhaps earned increased customer loyalty as a result. They have reengineered processes to reduce energy consumption, waste and overall GHG emissions. Some of these businesses may end up profiting from the sale of technologies developed as a result of their work to reduce global warming. We know how to solve this issue. We have proven that individual entities can address their own contributions and actually benefit at the same time. So what’s the hold-up? We don’t really get it. But we do get the need to march!
