You can’t ultimately adapt to something that?s constantly changing, which is what we can expect from an unhinged climate in the decades ahead. Our brittle civilization is not designed for resiliency in the face of change, and no civilization is built for permanent radical climate flux. As one scientist summed it up: “To put it nicely, we are heading into deep doo-doo.”

Imagine what would happen if we redirected the tens of billions of dollars currently subsidizing the fossil fuel industry to renewables. Just diverting routine current energy investment will bring about a new energy economy, drive technological innovation, and create wealth and vast numbers of jobs.

Transferring the technology to lesser-developed countries will do the same there, as well as comprise a wise and just foreign policy. We can do all this.
