Walk or drive? Recycle or trash? Conserve or waste? The daily choices we make, individually and collectively, have a major impact on the planet’s future health. Blue State Coffee is very proud to join The Virtual March and its partners against global warming. We hope to promote greater awareness of how every “good choice” can help. Some of our daily choices include: 1) Buying locally. This reduces the distance products must travel to reach us (which, in turn, cuts carbon dioxide emissions). 2) Using innovative recycled and compostable products. From napkins to office paper to coffee cups, we’ve found that there are eco-friendly alternatives to virtually all disposable products used in coffee shops. 3) Reducing our environmental footprint. Using renewable electric power, composting our coffee grinds, recycling. These are just a few of the measures Blue State Coffee has taken so far. We feel a constant challenge to operate more cleanly, to decrease our waste and environmental impact. Giving back. We donate half our profits to progressive causes, including organizations that directly benefit the environment. We allocate funds based on our customers’ vote. At >Blue State Coffee, we believe that seemingly small choices can create positive, lasting change.
