Our concern with the environment reaches far beyond talking about it. We are doing something about it. I caught myself driving an Excursion to and from work for nearly a year. It was a 34 mile round trip on a beautiful highway though the desert. One day I noticed all the wildfires that hit this area and thought, “man, we have had a lot of wildfires this year”. I never figured out why until this year. It was me. It was my pollution and emissions into the air that helped cause the heat that has triggered the hot dry temperatures in Nevada. This was directly related to the wildfires. My fault. But responsibility holds strong in my heart and I will be responsible for my actions. I sold the Excursion, bought a Toyota economy truck, and decided to drive it ONLY when I am not riding my bike to work. Life is a lot better too! We have been taking from the earth for so long that most of us have forgotten about giving back. It is not too late to care and it is not too late to make a difference. We are all responsible for what has happened, what will happen, and what we will do about the problem. We want everyone to help stop global warming and we will commit to make that happen. Even though it will be slow to see the results of our actions, as we do this we can feel good about what we are doing, and most importantly, set an example for our children. The time for procrastination has ended. Join the Virtual March everyone!
