Facing the Future
- Location: WA
- Marching Since: June 30, 2009
Facing the Future is dedicated to educating and motivating today’s students to be responsible stewards of tomorrow’s world. We incorporate global sustainability curriculum into mainstream classrooms all over the country and the world; each year we reach over 1,000,000 students in all 50 states and over 85 countries. Our materials and professional development opportunities for educators promote critical thinking on global issues, such as climate change and poverty, and positive solutions. We developed a widely used interdisciplinary curriculum, Climate Change: Connections and Solutions, to help middle and high school students understand climate change and to empower them to be part of the solution.
Earth’s climate is affected by the collective actions of all of us; because of this we believe it is critical that every student be educated, at least at a basic level, about climate change and its solutions. Our climate change programming is geared towards adoption into mainstream classrooms in all kinds of communities, in many subject areas and grade levels. By learning how to contribute to lasting solutions, young people can turn knowledge about climate change into positive action. We encourage students and educators to join us at StopGlobalWarming.org for climate change solutions.
