Lexington Global Warming Action Coalition
- Location:
- Marching Since: April 04, 2006
We are a small community based group that has been working together since
last summer to raise awareness about global warming among residents and
municipal officials in our town, Lexington, Mass. Through a couple of small
grants, we have had lectures, a film series, regular columns in our local
newspaper, and political actions through our email list. We are having an
Earth Day Fair in April where will will encourage peole to sign up for the
March. We support the off-shore windfarm in Nantucket Sound and all
alternative energy projects. We also have learned about melting glaciers
with Mark Bowen, a local author whose book “Thin Ice” describes the
disappearing glaciers around the world. We will be hosting Elizabeth
Kolbert, author of “Field Notes From a Catastrophe” in May. We support
the Stop Global Warming March and hope that millions of people in the United
States will sign up. The citizens of the United States want something done
about global warming NOW and the March is an effective tool to let
Washington know we want global warming stopped!! Keep up the good work!
