At Plenty, our outlook is both optimistic and realistic. All of our readers want to reduce their impact on the environment, but we understand that they may not have the means or the desire to completely overhaul their lifestyle.
As an alternative, we encourage them to make incremental changes such as biking to work instead of driving, or buying produce from their local farmer’s market instead of from a supermarket, or trading in that Range Rover for a Prius.
These are examples of relatively small contributions that can, over time, help lessen human impact on the planet.
But what if you could immediately benefit the future of the earth by doing something as trivial as pushing a button? By signing up to join the Stop Global Warming Virtual March on Washington, you can. Every time someone joins, he or she sends the government and the rest of the world a powerful message: Americans want Global Warming addressed immediately and aggressively. When we, as individuals, make incremental changes, we take the first step towards slowing down the destruction of our planet; but when we, as a unified group, join together and make a statement about what we believe in, we take a giant leap forward.
