Join the 1,457,074 supporters of the Stop Global Warming Virtual March, and become part of the movement to demand our leaders freeze and reduce carbon dioxide emissions now. We are all contributors to global warming and we all need to be part of the solution.

The Stop Global Warming Virtual March is a non-political effort to declare that global warming is here now and it’s time to act.
This is a movement about change, as individuals, as a country, and as a global community.

SaveOurEnvironment.org

The SaveOurEnvironment.org is the only collaborative website of the nation’s most influential environmental advocacy organizations. SaveOurEnvironment.org harnesses the power of the internet to increase public awareness and activism on today’s most important environmental issues. SaveOurEnvironment.org includes 19 of the largest environmental groups in the country and these groups believe that it is imperative that we all come together and participate in this effort. Many of our membership organizations such as UCS, Sierra Club and NRDC have joined the March and now SaveOurEnviroment.org is thrilled to be a part of this exciting effort.

As UCS has stated the mainstream scientific consensus on global warming is clear and compelling: changes in our climate are real and are already under way. For example, global sea level is rising about three times faster over the past 100 years compared with the previous 3,000 years, and the last decade was the hottest on record. As Earth continues to warm, there is a growing risk that the climate will change in ways that will seriously disrupt our lives, as well as the landscapes and animals we cherish.

Sierra Club says the answer to curbing global warming is simple – reduce our use of oil that, when burned, emits global warming pollution. Making our cars, SUVs and other light trucks average 40 miles per gallon would save more oil than we currently import from the Persian Gulf or could ever get from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge – combined. Taking this step would significantly cut America’s oil dependence, and go a long way to curbing the heat-trapping pollution that causes global warming. Would having cars and trucks that accelerated a little less fast, and go farther, really be a price too high to pay to avoid such disasters?

SaveOurEnvironment.org encourages its members to join and tell their friends and family about the march. We will take action and demand that Congress and the Bush administration take the necessary and long overdue steps to reverse potentially catastrophic changes in the Earth’s climate. Together we can make a difference.

Sincerely,

Julie Waterman
President
