“Educating, Inspiring, and Mobilizing the Next Generation of Environmental Leaders”
NAELS is marching to bring together an unprecedented national network of graduate students around global warming solutions. Many reputable scientists now warn that we will need to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 90% by 2050 to avoid the worst effects of global warming. NAELS recognizes that it is the 20-30 somethings, at today’s Universities that must lead a second industrial revolution to transition the US to a profitable, secure, and efficient, low-carbon society and meet this incredible challenge.
NAELS is also marching to build bridges and collaboration between today’s opposing camps, who must find a way to work together to stop global warming. The next generation of politicians, engineers, lawyers, urban planners, scientists, CEOs, Deans, and administrators – whether corporate or non-profit, Republican or Democrat – must begin working together NOW on innovative, aggressive, and profitable global warming solutions.
