The Virginia Tech Environmental Student Organization
- Location: NC
- Marching Since: October 05, 2005
The Environmental Student Organization at Virginia Tech is prominent in promoting the importance of environmental stewardship and awareness. Our club is for students in all fields with a common environmental interest and provides a comfortable outlet for students to share activities, projects, and ideas. Our goal is to further explore the intricacies of the environment and its issues to both its group within and the campus as a whole.>
This is why the members of Environmental Student Organization have joined the Virtual March on Washington to stress the threat of global warming to our world. Through numerous studies, scientists have concluded that global warming is very real and is happening right now. The melting of glaciers in the Artic and increasing strength of hurricanes are evidence of it, and this is just the beginning of the catastrophes that will soon come. The United States needs to take a step in shifting its energy consumption towards the use of renewable fuels such as biomass, solar energy, wind, etc. We should not leave the problem of global warming to future generations when we are fully capable of dealing with the problem now.
Together we can show that global warming is a cause for concern and that our government needs to do something about it. The world is looking to the United States as a leader in the forefront of the battle against global warming. Sign up on the march and show your support for this valiant cause.
