Young people demand to be heard and global warming is an issue that demands to be addressed. On Earth Day 2006, think MTV began its intervention with America with “Break the Addiction,” a 12-month, 12-step campaign to help end global warming and mass over-consumption. In partnership with StopGlobalWarming.org, MTV is giving young people a chance to save the world by offering simple, daily action tips, as well as in-depth resources, that connect the audience to a lasting environmental impact. MTV viewers will be able to quantify their efforts by the amount of carbon dioxide emissions and dollars saved due to changes they make in their lives. It’s time to start marching!
