Walk to School Wednesdays is the Beverly Hills, California “chapter” of the global campaigns, walktoschool.org and cawalktoschool.com. The initiative encourages kids and parents to walk to school instead of instead driving door-to-door from home to school. Walk to School Wednesdays will help lighten traffic around our schools and reduce car idling. It’s a simple step that anyone can take to help stop global warming. The challenge of the program is educating students from kindergarten to high school as well as their parents and getting people to change their habits. There are so many other reasons to walk — good health, community awareness, pedestrian-friendly programs, traffic safety, and more.
